where is the furniture from? It looks beautiful, durable and expensive...but is any of it fit in with Oberlin's commitment to environmental sustainability? Herman Miller and other furniture makers have committed to 'cradle to cradle' sustainable furniture.
Well now that you mentioned Herman Miller let me tell you that all the desks and workstations in the Circulation department, the mobile tables in the Academic Commons and the workstations in the Multi-Media Lab are all Herman Miller product. The computer workstations are made by Bretford and Bretford is partnership with Herman Miller on producing product.
Most of the fabrics used on the project are part of a sustainable initiatives program from the various fabric mills.
